Bagini Glacier Trekking Route and Experience

The journey begins at Joshimath, a well-known town serving as the base for many Himalayan treks. From here, a drive leads to Jumma, the last motorable point, where the trek officially starts. The trail initially passes through Ruing and Dronagiri Village, offering glimpses of traditional Himalayan life and architecture. Dronagiri, a village steeped in mythological significance from the Ramayana, is surrounded by towering peaks, creating a surreal atmosphere.

As trekkers ascend, the trail becomes more challenging, crossing rocky paths and alpine meadows before reaching Bagini Glacier Base Camp (4,500 m). From this vantage point, awe-inspiring views of the Changbang and Kalanka peaks dominate the horizon, making the strenuous climb entirely worthwhile. Trekkers can witness the grandeur of the glacier, frozen rivers, and surrounding snow-clad mountains, creating a scene of unspoiled Himalayan wilderness. After soaking in the stunning views, the descent follows the same route back to Joshimath.

Itinerary

In the morning catch AC Shatabdi Express Train for Haridwar at 06:50 hrs. Arrival at Haridwar by 11:25 hrs and here meet our guide and transfer to Rishikesh, check in to hotel. Later visit the Laxman Jhoola, Ram Jhoola, Parmarth Niketan, Swarga Ashram and an evening visit the Ganga Ghat for world famous Aarti ceremony on river Ganges. Overnight stay at hotel at Rishikesh.

After breakfast get ready for our next destination to Joshimath via Devprayag (confluence of Bhagirathi & Alaknanda River, from here the holy Ganges start), Rudraprayag, Karnprayag & Chamoli. Arrival at Joshimath by evening, check in to hotel. Overnight stay.

After breakfast, we shall drive to Jumma by jeep and from here begin our trekking to Ruing Village (about 3kms). Overnight stay at Ruing Village.

Our second day of trekking will begin from Ruing Village and today, we shall be walking towards Dronagiri village (8kms from Ruing Village). Night stay at Dronagiri Village.

After breakfast today, we will attempt steep ascending towards Bagini Base Camp. It is a10kms trek between the two destinations. Overnight stay at Bagini Base Camp.

After early morning breakfast, we will leave for Changbang Base Camp from Bagini Base Camp. It is a 12 to 14kms trek. We shall also attempt climbing up to advance base camp. By evening we shall try to make it back to Bagini Base Camp. Camping and overnight stay at Bagini Base Camp.

By following the same route, we will return back to Ruing Village. It will be an 18kms trek.

From Jumma, a 3kms trek will lead back to Jumma and from there we shall drive to Joshimath. Overnight stay at Joshimath.

We will drive back to Haridwar from Joshimath today right after the breakfast. From Haridwar we will catch AC Shatabdi express train for Delhi

Transfer to the international airport/domestic airport for onward destination. Trip & Services Ends here
