About This Tour

Do not be surprised on hearing about expeditions on River Sarda (or Sharda) while asking for River Mahakali rafting, as the two names mean the same river; and both are the names of Goddess Kali, whose temple is located in Kalapaani, somewhere in the border of India and Nepal. Nevertheless, the river is a treasure of thrills for all the rafting as well as Masheer fishing enthusiasts bordering Uttarakhand (the Indian state) and Mahakali Zone (Nepal).

Mahakali River Rafting expedition becomes a treat for anglers in addition to rafters, as the fishes found here are easy and worthy catches to invest time in. The icing on the cake is the tremendous wildlife individuals get to view along with natural stalactite and stalagmite formations. The trip gets stared from Jhoola Ghat, reached via Kathgodam and Pithoragarh. Not a difficult one to raft, the river offers some of the Grade II to IV rapids, named as Chooka, Dimberghat, The Creek, Purnagiri and many others.

Resting comes in breaks, camping at places like Waterfall, Nidal, Sonaligaon, Parigaon, Pancheswar etc which are just to enjoy the ambience more and not exactly a rest required after rigorous rafting day. The last day of Mahakali river rafting includes Boom and Terai region with versatile views.
